Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80 GB (6Y080M0)
The DiamondMax Plus 9 was Maxtor's first SATA hard disk. The drive was available in capacities up to 200 GB; we decided to include an 80 GB model in our test series. Naturally, the DiamondMax Plus 9 can no longer completely keep up with the latest models, but it's still fast enough to do the job. Our SATA version also includes 8 MB of cache, and its fluid dynamic bearings mean that it runs nice and quiet.
