Hitachi DeskStar 7K250
The UltraATA version of the 7K250 has been available for about two years now. Its performance numbers match those of the SATA version, probably because the SATA drive's design is based on this model, supplemented with so-called SATA bridge circuitry. The bridge is basically an add-on circuit block that converts a parallel ATA connection into its serial ATA counterpart. Those who've already installed one of these drives have little reason to switch to a current model; performance will only increase slightly.
