Why you can trust 3DTested
I’ve commented many times that OLEDs all exist in a small performance envelope. There are only subtle differences between their picture quality and gaming performance. Any refresh rate over 200 Hz is enough to deliver perfect motion resolution and super low input lag.
That said, I always applaud a company that continues to raise the bar. Asus does that with each new ROG Swift model, and the PG27AQWP-W is another winner.
At 540 Hz, it’s currently the fastest OLED you can buy. My tests showed it to have slightly more input lag than some others but not enough to make a visual difference to anyone but the most skilled players. And for users with slower PCs, the 720 Hz mode can deliver the same smoothness, albeit at lower resolution. My play sessions were nothing short of addictive thanks to its phenomenal performance.
My favorite part, though, was the picture. With a bit of extra brightness, it stood out among the many OLEDs I’ve reviewed as having just a tad more depth and impact. It’s subtle, but also worth paying extra for. And like most OLEDs, the PG27AQWP-W is super colorful. I had to calibrate for the absolute best picture, but it was well worth the effort. I also appreciated the unique styling with its silver finish, liberal use of metal, and the clear part in back showing some of the internals.
The Asus ROG Swift PG27AQWP-W is super cool in multiple ways and delivers the performance and image quality I’d expect from a premium display. It stands out among its OLED brethren with higher brightness and a faster refresh rate than anything currently available in the 27-inch QHD genre. If you’re looking for the very best, definitely check it out.

Distortion67 I'm confused Asus' website clearly states this monitor is a Tandem WOLED but the article states QD-OLED?Reply

I dusted off my 9 year old account to comment about this. You're correct. This monitor uses LG's new tandem OLED panel instead of Samsung's QD-OLED panel. All the other reviews identify it correctly.Distortion67 said:I'm confused Asus' website clearly states this monitor is a Tandem WOLED but the article states QD-OLED?

This is a pretty big error and I'm surprised they haven't corrected it yet. -
Distortion67 Yeah everything else I've seen definitely calls this a Tandem WOLED.... Just to make sure I think they should send me the review model so I can verify it.Reply -
lizardpeter I'm sorry, but there must be something either majorly wrong with your unit or majorly wrong with your testing. There is not a chance in hell that the monitor has anywhere near 22 ms of "input lag." That would be almost 11 frames. Hardware Unboxed and TFTCentral have already tested this display and found it to have the lowest or tied with the lowest input lag they have ever seen. I would say it was your testing method compared to theirs, but you have a different 480 Hz OLED monitor scoring 10 ms on the same test. There is no possible way that ASUS's flagship 540 Hz OLED tested by other reviewers and found to have the lowest latency ever recorded is 12 ms slower (multiple frames) than an inferior 480 Hz OLED from LG.Reply
