One Word About The Samsung 970P: Remarkable
The color fidelity of the 970P was absolutely remarkable. Colors were all true by default. We didn't have to do an inordinate amount of tweaking the color adjustments to get the profile you see below:
In absolute terms, this is not the best result we got in this round of tests, but the 970P has the advantage of simplifying setup and adjustment of the monitor.
| Black spot | White spot | Contrast |
|---|---|---|
| 0.21 | 176 | 839: 1 |
Congratulations are in order. The black depth was the best 3DTested Guide has ever recorded on an LCD display. Samsung has managed a real tour de force.
Article continues belowAlso note that the brightness is very well calibrated. The contrast ratio soars to more than 838:1. Only the L778 from Eizo has done better in our tests.
Then we measured the stability of the contrast when changing the brightness level.
The contrast was very stable, though it showed a peak at 70%.
The monitor met the standards in force for breadth of color - no problems there.
