Conclusion
At $60, the IcyDock MB559US-1S is not as cheap as many other drive enclosures, but it certainly isn't unaffordable. Let's not forget that it offers dual interfaces: eSATA for high-performance and USB 2.0 for travel use so you can connect lots of different systems.
Pros:
- eSATA provides sufficient bandwidth for any hard drive (no performance bottleneck)
- USB 2.0 available as a secondary interface
- has built-in stand
- quick installation
- option to buy multiple drive frames to swap several hard drives
- supports eSATA hot swap if supported by your SATA controller
- Sleek design
Cons:
Article continues below- No shock or impact protection whatsoever, so make sure you pick a safe location when using the built-in stand
- No backup software included
- External power supply
