PCMark05 Application Benchmarks
The file write performance benchmark should reflect the low-level performance results, but using a partitioned and formatted drive. Again, the new Hitachi drive is slightly faster than the WD.
The Windows XP startup benchmark requires both acceptably quick access time and high throughput. Hitachi comes out on top, providing a performance level that is comparable to WD’s WD1500 Raptor.
