The results from the GTS model encouraged me that consumers were getting a good value in the product offering. The 8600 GT model on the other hand spent its entire time at the bottom of the charts. The best score of the preliminary testing for the EVGA GeForce 8600 GTS was in the non-filtered and antialiased 3DMark05 series. Here it scored better than a GeForce 7900 GTX. After the image quality settings were enabled the lack of serious firepower and a limited amount of frame buffer memory took its toll on the cards.
