USB 2.0 Performance
Compared to older ATI southbridge components, the SB600 provides up-to-date performance, but it cannot even beat Intel's 18-months old ICH7R. With a single USB 2.0 hard drive attached, the SB600 can deliver 27.5 MB/s. Running two drives on the same controller, our maximum was 18.8 MB/s, and the result hardly improves when attaching the two USB 2.0 hard drives to different USB 2.0 root hubs. ICH8 is by far the best USB 2.0 performer if you need to move lots of data around.
