Despite demand for chipsets picking up this quarter, Taiwan vendors including Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) and VIA Technologies may soon face increased competition from Nvidia and Intel, as Nvidia aims to push its C51-series chipsets in the mainstream Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) K8 market and Intel may soon begin sampling its mainstream 945 chipsets, according to sources in the motherboard industry.
