The company's new X60, X60s, and T60 are built around Intel's Napa dual core chipset and will support EV-DO or EDGE WWAN services. Not a new company to WWAN by far, Lenovo was one of the first portable computer manufacturers to offer EV-DO, in partnership with Verizon.
Lenovo claims that the new X and T laptops are thinner and lighter than previous models in those lines. The company also contends that the new computers draw less power than earlier systems.
"Our customers want systems that are easy to use and allow them to be productive in any location - whether that's in the office, at home, in an airport or at a hotel," said Peter Hortensius, senior vice president, Notebook Business Unit, Lenovo, in a prepared statement. "These new ThinkPad notebooks merge one of Lenovo's hallmarks - productivity technology - in new thin and light designs to give users improved performance in whatever environment they work."
