EKWB Reveals Colored GPU Backplates

EK Water Blocks now makes backplates for graphics cards in different colors.

EKWB has announced that it is expanding its selection of backplates for graphics cards. The water blocks will still be the same, though the manufacturer will now offer select backplates in different colors.

The colors that will be available include gold, red, and blue, with all of them priced at $43.56. The gold units are already available through EKWB's webshop. Look for the EK-FC GTX Ti Backplate [red, blue, gold] or the EK-FC R9-290X Backplate [red, blue, gold] if you're interested.

    I'd love to grab one of these for my 760s, not for any particular reason, simply because they look quite snazzy!

    Considering this is the side of the card most people actually see, it makes a lot of sense. I never really got why manufacturers focus on cool front cover designs when the cards face downward for standard mobo arrangements.

    That's... No.

    Sorry, but those are far too garish for me; I don't want just a big block of colour sitting in there. I'd much rather have something tasteful, with highlights of color... Or just buy a plain cover and mod it.
