EE Hits One Million 4G Customers in the UK

The UK's first (but no longer only) 4G carrier has hit one million customers well ahead of schedule. The company had originally hoped to hit one million customers before the end of the year but thanks the UK's rapid adoption rate for its early milestone. Everything Everywhere launched its 4G network just last October, which means this milestone also comes before the service is even one year old.

"The UK mobile sector saw a huge shift 10 months ago with the launch of 4G from EE. We set a new standard for UK mobile networks, and the way consumers and businesses are using their mobile devices in this country has been transformed," said EE CEO Olaf Swantee. "We have seen one of the fastest adoption rates in the world and I’m immensely proud to announce today that we have reached a significant milestone – one million 4G customers."

Just last month, EE revealed that it was now providing 4G LTE to 100 towns across the United Kingdom. The announcement came right after O2 and Vodafone rolled out their own LTE service in a handful of cities.
