Two Chinese Nabbed At LAX With Infrared Cameras

Los Angeles (CA) - A pair of Chinese men were caught at the Los Angeles International Airport with ten military-grade infrared cameras as they were about to board an international flight. According to the Associated Press, the men had been in the United States for about a week and hid the cameras in their checked luggage.

Yong Guo Zhi, a Chinese national, and naturalized US citizen Tah Wei Chao (kiss that citizenship goodbye?), were caught by eagled-eyed officers at the airport. The pair are now being investigated by the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security and are held at the government's downtown Los Angeles detention center.

The cameras are two-inches square, cost approximately $5000 each and require export licenses. According to authorities, the men repeatedly assured the seller that they would not export the cameras.
