Why you can trust 3DTested
For budget gaming monitors to be successful, they must prioritize the right elements so important items aren’t left out. A high refresh rate and precise video processing are musts. Image quality comes from high contrast and accurate color. A wide gamut is nice, too.
The Lenovo Legion R27fc-30 has all of that. Its 280 Hz overclock plus precise overdrive succeeds in producing clear motion resolution and smooth gaming. It doesn’t need calibration and its gamut covers over 85% of DCI-P3. For less than $200, that’s a definite win.
My only beef is that it needs to switch back to 240 Hz every 30 minutes. I’ve harped on this a bit, but hopefully, that will inspire Lenovo to at least add the option of turning the feature off. I haven’t had stability issues with any overclocked monitor I’ve reviewed for the past 10 years, and only Lenovo does this. That aside, the R27fc-30 is a great gaming display.
The only other thing sacrificed are USB ports but that is far from a deal-breaker. At the current price of $195, it delivers remarkable gaming performance and a colorful accurate image. The Lenovo Legion R27fc-30 is a great choice for budget gaming systems and is very much worthy of consideration. Definitely check it out.
