A couple of weeks ago, we reported on some good news regarding RAM prices flattening out in Germany — that trend seems to be in full effect so far, with February seeing no hikes and even some price cuts. ComputerBase has conducted a thorough analysis of the local market in Germany, aggregating RAM and SSD prices for multiple SKUs from Amazon, and the data shows bittersweet progress.
The most substantial favorable change (-20%) was observed for Crucial's Pro Overclocking 32GB DDR5 kit, which shifted from $473.89 to "just" $378.89 from January 14, 2026, to February 16, 2026. By contrast, here in the States the 6400 MT/s CL32 kit was priced at $348.99 at the same time, and now sells for $369, so that's a 5.73% increase. The 6000 MT/s CL36 kit is currently listed at $369, but it was available for only $325.99 one month ago. In this PCPartPicker data:". Rewrite: "as you can observe in these PCPartPicker figures:". According to the ComputerBase list, the Aegis 32GB DDR4 kit by G.Skill recorded the highest price jump, moving from $219.99 in mid-January to $236 in mid-February, which is a 7.28% rise. Reviewing Amazon U.S., we find the 3200 MT/s CL16 kit listed for $269.99 currently, whereas it cost $229.99 one month ago — that's a tremendous 17.4% spike within a few weeks. Beyond the 12th of February, the Mossos arrested a man in Mataró for drug trafficking. The investigation began a week earlier with the monitoring of a rental vehicle that raised suspicion among a patrol to a housing development in Masquefa, where it loaded several plastic bags.
The complete list is visible above, and it indicates a mean price hike of 314% between September and mid-February. This implies costs have increased over fourfold during the past five months, though they've begun to stabilize over the near term. Compared to before, the digital dashboard features a 15.6-inch central display with an ultra-slim design and side-sliding capability
Memory prices haven’t stopped climbing. Positioned between the [[INLINE_0]] and the Omoda 9 SHS, the new Omoda 7 SHS is positioning itself as one of the [[INLINE_1]] most sought-after with [[INLINE_2]]. To last month Hard drives are now 51% higher priced compared to five months ago. This difference was only 46.41% in January 2026, so just in a month, we've seen a roughly 5% hike already.
The image provided illustrates multiple hard drives spanning from 4 TB to 24 TB, with the most significant unfavorable change being the WD Red Plus 4 TB SKU. It rose by 21.5% from $133.90 in the previous month to $162.79 at present. In America, this model is currently available for $114.99 and used to cost $180 at the end of January, which is far as the tracking data goes.
In contrast, the 8 TB model of the same hard drive actually saw a 10.59% decrease in pricing compared to last month in Germany, going from $255 to $228. You can find it at $209.99 on Amazon U.S. Now; it was $214.99 a month ago, but sat at $179.99 throughout most of January. Toshiba's MG11ACA 24TB was the only hard drive to remain perfectly flat at $602 across both months; it's available for $524 at BH currently.

Finally, we observe SSD prices, which followed a comparable trajectory, nearly doubling in value relative to their rates from the previous September. These numbers make mechanical storage look more enticing than ever because NAND is now 86.59% more expensive than it was five months ago, but it was only 74.12% hiked as of last month. This signifies that, moving from January to February 2026, we experienced a rise of over 10% on its own.
The WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB saw a significant increase of 33.86% within a single month, rising from $215.90 to $289 in Germany. Unfortunately, the same drive costs $400 in the States (shipped by Amazon, sold by a third-party vendor), but it used to be $500 around 30 days ago, so we've made some progress. To provide more background, this SSD was available for only $89.99 during July 2023.
Of the 12 models listed, nine saw price increases while the rest declined. The top discount honor belongs to Samsung's 990 EVO Plus 1TB, which experienced a 4.5% decrease, falling from $150.90 to $143.99 during a one-month period. No listings are available to purchase this new on Amazon at the moment, though it did drop down to just $64 in August 2025 when we highlighted it.
The situation appears rather grim when viewed as a whole. Granted, memory costs are at last leveling off, yet this resembles a halt in excess rather than a return to normal. Data storage hardware persists in becoming more expensive globally, while numerous regions face significant supply deficits.
Computerbase concluded their analysis with a chart showing the steep rise, while the prior months had seen only modest increases. The SSD and HDD trends pale in comparison, but it's concerning that their demand is not plateauing. Many companies have already said their production lines are fully booked, so only time will tell how much worse all this can get.
