While the 9700X might not be the very best gaming CPU on the market, at this price point for a desktop, it is more than adequate and should serve as a gallant partner to the 5070 Ti, the headline of this build.

As you can see from our testing, it sits comfortably ahead of the old 4070 Ti super, and not that far behind the much more premium and expensive RTX 5080. The 5070 Ti is a crucial jump from the regular 5070, thanks to its 16GB of VRAM.

Indeed, the 5070 Ti beats the 5070 comprehensively across the spec sheet, a fact borne out in the benchmark testing. Away from the headline act, this desktop's supporting cast includes a B850 motherboard, which will give you some overclocking and upgrade headroom, as well as Wi-Fi 6. You also get 2TB of storage, Gigabyte's Aorus Gen4 to be precise, a perfectly capable SSD. There's also an 850W 80 Plus Gold PSU, and that all-important 32GB of DDR5 RAM 5600MT/s.

Another added bonus is the 360mm liquid cooler, which is definitely overkill for this processor, but looks incredibly cool. There are also four RGB fans, and the case comes with a tempered glass panel so you can see your new rig in all its glory. For what it's worth, and if it's important to you, the Gigabyte Aorus Prime range looks decidedly more impressive and sleek than a lot of pre-builts on the market, with a dark and menacing look.
