SSD pricing may have gotten out of hand during the global storage shortage. However, they are still the best upgrades you can give to any system to supercharge its performance. Although SSD deals are hard to come by these days, there are two worth a look: Amazon is currently selling the Biwin Black Opal NV7400 2TB and the Acer Predator GM7000 2TB at 25% and 14% off, respectively.

The Black Opal NV7400 is a PCIe 4.0 SSD for gamers, creative professionals, and power users. The drive boasts blistering sequential read and write speeds up to 7,450 MB/s and 6,500 MB/s, respectively.

The Predator GM7000 is also a high-performance PCIe 4.0 drive with impressive specifications. The SSD sports sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,400 MB/s and 6,700 MB/s, respectively. The all-around performance is great, and it runs efficiently. Unlike the Black Opal NV7400, however, the Predator GM7000 features a double-sided design that makes it challenging to fit in thinner laptops.

The Predator GM7000 comes with a similar limited five-year warranty as the Black Opal NV7400. However, it's not as durable. The Predator GM7000 is rated for up to 1,500W, which is 25% lower than that of the Black Opal NV7400. Nonetheless, the former remains a very decent daily driver for any modern system.

There are several 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSDs available for under $300, but few can match the speed, reliability, and value offered by the Black Opal NV7400 2TB and the Predator GM7000 2TB. The Black Opal NV7400 excels in endurance, while the Predator GM7000, on the other hand, boasts slightly superior write speeds.

Both drives offer outstanding value, 13 cents per GB for the Black Opal NV7400 2TB and 15 cents per GB for the Predator GM7000 2TB. When considering an urgent storage upgrade, these SSDs stand out as compelling choices. Whether to pick one or the other depends on whether you prioritize long-term reliability or higher write performance for intensive workloads.
