All-time low price

Whether it's buttery smooth gaming or critical video editing, there's nothing this laptop can't handle. Thanks to the powerful hardware combo of a 140W RTX 5070 Ti and a 16-core Ryzen 9 8940HX CPU, you get dependable performance that feels leagues above its price bracket.

Even before the ongoing component crisis, a $1,300 RTX 5070 Ti laptop was a great deal — now it's a borderline steal. MSI has packed the Vector 16 with a, well, 16-inch 1600p display running at 240 Hz. The machine is powered by a Ryzen 9 8940HX processor, a top-end chip featuring 16 cores and 32 threads. The RTX 5070 Ti here is a 140W variant, and is accompanied by 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB SSD with a second M.2 slot for upgrades.

That hardware combo makes the Vector 16 a formidable laptop that can excel at both gaming and productivity tasks. The chassis is a bit old school with its plastic build and loud fans, but on the flip side, that means it should have respectable sustained performance. After all, there's a 90Wh battery inside and the laptop weighs 5.95 lbs., so it's also not too bulky to carry around (or awkward, since it looks relatively sleek). MSI is backing up the device with a 1-year warranty, too.

The keyboard is backlit, you get plenty of fast USB ports, including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity, and there's even a webcam shutter for the privacy-oriented folk. The only omission is that the display, while 240 Hz, is not an OLED, but you can't expect that at these prices anyways. As long as performance is what you're after, the MSI Vector 16 at just $1,299 is a fantastic deal that covers all the fundamentals you'll need.
